Carbon Dioxide Monitoring System

Scope:

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is permanently in use in a number of kitchens of a national restaurant chain for their post mix soft drink dispensers. These post mix soft drink system includes a cylinder of CO2 in the kitchen area next to the post mix chiller. There is no system to monitor the CO2, which is a safety issue for staff.

Work Conducted:

After careful inspection, Setpoint Air installed a CO2 monitoring system. This consists of the main sensing unit that is installed just above floor level and a remote display unit that is installed at the entrance where the CO2 is situated. The main sensing unit measures the CO2 levels just above floor level as it is heavier than normal air. When the level is above setpoint the alarm will sound on the remote display unit to alert staff not to enter the area. This work has been conducted in a number for this restaurant chain’s kitchens.
