Brunetti HQ New Condenser
Replacement Freezer Room condensing unit.
One of the main freezers at our clients had an intermittent electrical fault with the refrigeration system that meant that the condensing unit would fail and the freezer wouldn’t maintain temperature. It was found that the electrical insulation of the compressor motor was lower than normal and under certain conditions, the variable speed drive that controlled the compressor would fail on an earth fault. We couldn’t guarantee that the system would continue to operate as required and there was potential for the loss of a large amount of product. After consultation with the client, the best choice was to replace the condensing unit before a complete failure of the existing condensing unit.
It was also found that there was a mismatch between the condensing unit and the evaporator where the condensing unit capacity was smaller than the evaporator. We carried out calculations and specified the correct condensing unit to suit the evaporator and the use of the freezer room.
A new condensing unit was sourced and crane onto the roof of the facility. New pipe was run between the evaporator and the new condensing unit, but in a more suitable location.
New TX valve and other components were installed and the system was operational. The system was monitored and fine tuning of parameters were carried out to optimise the performance of the system.
